Hammonds candy factory

I visited Hammonds candy factory It was awesome.

I saw people make candy today at Hammond Candy Factory.  It opened  in 1920  so almost  100  years ago! they use corn syrup, water and natural dyes to make candy canes. They get it to 345 degrees and then spin and cool it. All of their peppermint is made by hand.  The factory is in Denver Colorado  and today it smelled cinnamon and peppermint.

I got a lollipop, a bacon flavored chocolate bar water melon fudge and taffy.

The tour person was nice and they even showed us a video.

My favorite part was the shop.

Their most purchased candy is peppermint.

  1. Boston what a well written article. I like how you told us what you got from the store. It made it more personal. I wish there were more pictures and how did the candy you bought taste?
    Great article.

    Love you,
    Dad

  2. Bacon flavoured chocolate? What was that like? We live near a chocolate factory too. Do you know Ritter Sport chocolate? It’s about 20 minutes from our house.

    1. I haven’t heard of that candy before.

The bacon chocolate tasted like bacon but I didn’t like it very much and didn’t finish it.

  3. I love to see what you guys write. I miss you all so much I wrote 2 cards. One for the boys & one for the girls. Look out for them.
