Hello, today I am writing about Spaghetti and Meatball’s Origin.
Most people believe if you travel to Italy you can find this amazing dish but you probably won’t find it on a Menu.
While it mostly know as an Italian Dish Spaghetti and Meatballs did not originate in Italy.
Yeah Italy has their own take on Meatballs, but their highly different than the type your probably familiar with. They’re called polpettes, and are mainly eaten with Sans Spaghetti. They’re also made with Fish and Turkey.
Spaghetti originates from when Italian Immigrants coming to the good ol’ U S of A in 1880-1920. Most of the Immigrants were in poverty and had been spending 70-80 of their food income on food in Italy compared to 25% in the U.S. Meat quickly became an Importance, and families put more and more Meatballs on the table.
The sauce came later on. For Cooks in the USA “Sailor Sauce” dominated American-Italian meals because canned tomatoes were one of the only at local Markets. The sauce originates from a place called Naples and comes from the Italian word ‘Marinaro’ meaning Sailor.
Spaghetti also became really popular in the good ol’ U S of A because it was one of the only Italian food available.
Not to long after people began eating all 3 Together.
This is the end of the blog hope you enjoyed because now I am really hungry for Spaghetti and Vegan Meatballs and you probably are aswell (if your not then tell me your secrets because that seems impossible).
